Epidural is working.

Morning,

I visited with Steven yesterday afternoon and he was sleeping quite well during our 3 hour visit :) He was interrupted a few times by the ICU staff (they came up to check on him), the pain team (pain is down to a 5/10) and the new nursing staff. The epidural seems to be working much better. Steven managed to do a few arm, leg and breathing exercises while I was there and during the evening visit with John and Ethel he managed to sit up.

One of the goals in switching him to an epidural is that he will be less groggy but as of the evening visit he was still very sleepy. John called the hospital this morning and he slept well through the night - finally.

I imagine they will try to have him stand today and will post how that goes.

  2. Great news on getting a nights sleep, it might be easier to function today. Sounds like Steven is making huge strides forward already - hopefully he is not pushing himself too hard. Sending more love today.

  3. Delighted to hear that you slept better Steven. Ran into Sasha and Don in the Starbucks in Nanaimo, they wanted me to pass on their love. Seems to be kind of a theme here...Love Thank you for letting us share your journey of healing, hope and love.

  4. Hi!
Just reading through the updates and I am so glad to hear that Steven is having success with pain management and getting some rest. It sounds like you guys have an amazing group of staff at the hospital between the docs, nurses, pain team and physiotherapists!! I hope those pain numbers just keep dropping :)
