End of Day 3

Steven had his first visit with James tonight since the morning of his surgery. It was great to see his face light up when James came in. Which reminds me of some other very important news: Cory and Amy had a beautiful and healthy baby girl just hours after Steven finished up his surgery on Wednesday. So we will be celebrating the 28th for years to come! Congratulations you two.

After another day of dealing with pain management Steven had a smile on his face when I left tonight (it helped that I brought James in to say goodbye) and he ensured me he expects to have a much better night. His pain is finally at a 6/10, much improved from yesterday and earlier today. John and Ethel are headed to the hospital now as we've started to divide up the visits.

Steven may or may not get the epidural tomorrow - there are lots of pros and cons to consider but I guess if it was simple the decision would be made already.

Good night :)

Tracy

  1. So glad to hear that smiles are part of your day now. And I have special news - only since 6:00 pm tonight so I have not shared it at work yet but will do so first thing Monday morning - Melanie and Mike are expecting a baby girl! We are so excited! And it so helps to know that there are extra special baby boys that are in the same age group - there really is so much hope and promise for the future! Love and magic surrounds us and you guys are living proof!

  5. Isn't it amazing what a small child will do for you....love, warmth, hugs, kisses and the feeling of wanting to be there with them all the time. Steven, it is so wonderful that you have all this family who love and support you and are there for you, not to mention all of us who have been reading so carefully this amazing blog by Tracy. And 6/10 for pain - great, great, great news. Love to you all. You made me laugh, Tracy, about the bed being too high for your Mom..........
